Book your plane ticket to Liberia international airport (code LIR) in northern Costa Rica. Las Catalinas is about a 45-minute drive from the airport.

To find the best flight options, check for one-way tickets on different airlines or fly to Liberia airport one-way and San Jose airport the other way. Google Flights or Kayak are good search sites for finding the best airfare and routing.

You can also fly into San Jose’s Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO), Costa Rica’s capital city. From there, take a domestic flight to Liberia with Sansa Airlines. Their 12-seater planes can fill up. Make your reservation early. Allow at least 2 – 3 hours between your international flight arrival time and the domestic flight departure time.

After you arrive in Liberia, we will arrange for a driver to meet you and bring you to the retreat hotel. The transfer cost is not included, however, we are happy to take care of the arrangements from Liberia or anywhere in the Guanacaste area. Please contact us to request the cost of a transfer.

The retreat ends after breakfast on the last day. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.

The morning classes will be a mix of conditioning movements and Slow Flow vinyasa to enliven one’s energy, enhance flexibility and mobility, and build strength. Classes are structured so that participants may learn and advance their practice. Each class is specifically sequenced around a theme based in the Hatha and Tantra traditions.

Afternoon classes will be restorative yoga and guided meditation.

All levels of yoga experience are welcome, from beginners to more seasoned practitioners, to those who are in the professed “I-am-so-out-of-practice” state. The precept is: Come as you are. Start where you are.

Typical November – December weather in the northern province of Guanacaste is sunny, blue skies during the day and occasional afternoon or evening rain showers which give a fresh and cool feel in the air. The landscape is vibrant and gorgeously green. It is the start of the dry season or summer in this area which has a sub-tropical climate. The temperatures average year-round from low-high 80s F during the day and low/mid-70s in the evenings. We only offer our retreats at the most favorable times of the year.

The chef creates locally sourced and authentically Costa Rican cuisine at the hotel’s highly acclaimed restaurant. One lunch and dinner will be out of the hotel.

Special dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten- or dairy-free, and allergies can be accommodated. Please let us know when you book your retreat. Be prepared to eat well!

A variety of exciting tours and activities are offered outside of the retreat package. The options are extensive – do as much or as little as you like. Reservations can be made upon arrival at the hotel.

A non-refundable US $500 deposit confirms your reservation. Full payment due date will be set once a date is confirmed for your private retreat.

Should you need to cancel your reservation before the final payment due date you will receive a refund for payment made less the $500 deposit. Should you need to cancel after the final payment due date, for whatever reason, we will not be able to provide a refund or credit.

No refund or credit will be given for arriving late or departing a retreat early or for meals/activities in which one does not participate.

If force majeure (e.g. pandemic, natural disaster, government travel restrictions, etc.) causes a retreat to be canceled we will offer alternative dates to reschedule the retreat within one year. In this case, there is no refund of payments when a retreat cannot be held due to causes beyond our control.

If the traveler is unable to join at the rescheduled date, full or partial credit of their payment may be applicable towards another Vajra Sol retreat. This will be determined at the time as it depends on how far out it is from the retreat start date.

In the unlikely event Vajra Sol needs to cancel a retreat for a non-force majeure reason a full refund will be given.

We strongly advise on the purchase of travel insurance at the time of booking your retreat in the case of any unexpected events or changes to your plans before or during your trip.
