Vajra Sol - About Us Vajra Sol - About Us Vajra Sol - About Us

About Us

With eleven years of experience Vajra Sol is one of the longest running yoga retreat companies in Costa Rica. Our mission is to facilitate a rejuvenating and transformative experience for each guest where all the aspects of the week are taken care of and where decision-making is kept simple.

Enliven your spirit, be active in body and calmer in mind, take time to let go into deep relaxation and feel an awakened connection to yourself that sometimes gets lost in the busyness of life.

Thinking of the Environment

We are immersed in an awe-inspiring landscape of pristine tropical forest and vast beautiful beaches. We are deeply connected to and aware of the natural elements of this place and the importance to respect and honor it.

A pervasive theme on our retreat is one's energetic harmonization with Nature, to experience its balancing and healing effects, and in turn to appreciate the natural world for what it offers to us. We place a high importance on upholding the environmental and social practices of a responsible traveler. We discerningly partner with businesses that operate under the premise of sustainable tourism by showing an effort to minimize adverse effects on the environment where and when possible without compromising on comfort and style.

Vajra Sol Founder

Sandra Tedeschi - Vajra Sol Yoga AdventuresWhile on a sabbatical from her previous career job an idea was ignited that serendipitously led Sandra Tedeschi to change her path. In 2005, beginning a new venture, she founded Vajra Sol Yoga Adventures.

Prior to settling in Costa Rica, Sandra worked several years in South Asia, Africa and U.S. cities in the humanitarian aid field. From her experiences working in often high paced and pressured work environments she learned the great value of a regular yoga practice to maintain balance in daily living. She received a university degree in Foreign Language and International Trade and a Masters in International Public Health and Development.

Sandra has been practicing yoga for over 19 years and teaches a Vinyasa Flow style with influences from other types of yoga and esteemed teachers she has studied with over the years. She received her advanced teacher training in Interdisciplinary Yoga from the Nosara Yoga Institute, completed the Anusara teacher training course and is certified with the internationally recognized Yoga Alliance. Her practice includes meditation and philosophy and she currently studies under the Himalayan and Tantra traditions. In her classes she creates a welcoming and nurturing environment with a focus on the balance between the playfulness, challenge and devotion of the practice. She teaches for all levels, from beginner to the more seasoned practitioner.

Sandra has a great affinity for travel to far off places and many outdoor activities, such as surfing, stand up paddling and being in the mountains. She approaches the practice and philosophies of yoga as a lifestyle that is woven into her daily living. She is dedicated and grateful to facilitate a memorable and soulful getaway for those who seek a break from their daily routine and to gain deeper insight into wherever they may be on their life path.

"Now and then we are fortunate enough to meet someone who inspires us to want to be better and to grow in all ways. You have been that person in my journey to Costa Rica. More than a yoga instructor, your energy, your words and your kindness seemed to be exactly what I needed at each and every moment. Thank you for everything this week, for teaching me how to be a better yogi physically, mentally and most important spiritually."
